Always steam out prior to storage or transport

To avoid storage and transport
damage, steam out the machine
beforehand (water removal). This is
absolutely essential at temperatures
below 5 °C
Switch off the machine and let
it cool down. Pull out the power
plug. Keep the machine in a dry
dust-free place inaccessible to chil-
dren
Switch off the machine. Drain
the water tank and reinsert it.
Place a cup under the nozzle
Tip: Use the original packaging

Hold down the Lungo/tea key
and switch on the machine.
The steaming out programme starts;
now release the key
Good to know
Prior to long periods of disuse or at storage/transport temperatures below 5 °C,
steaming out the machine is essential to remove all water from the system.
This prevents any frost damage inside the machine.
Before operating again, first flush out the machine and piping (➔ page 16).
At temperatures below 5 °C, the machine cannot be started and the cleaning key
lights up red
.
Caution: steam coming out of
the nozzle: danger of scalding!
After a few seconds you will hear
the pump. When it stops, the key
lights extinguish and steaming out
is finished
