Play High Resolution Audio from a Windows System
To play high resolution audio files such as DSD, DSF, DFF, FLAC (24 bit) and many other high
resolution formats, you will need to install a media player that is capable of playing 24 bit
192kHz music. There are a number of media players such as Foobar2000 (free), jRiver ($) and
others that are available for download from the internet.
We will publish additional guides to the installation and configuration of various media players
and their use with the GIA-275 on our website. All of the media players we have tested install
easily and 'see' the GIA-275 immediately. Most have built-in and/or addon equalizers that
enable you to customize the sound to your speakers, listening environment and personal
preferences.

Connect a CD or DVD player to the GIA-275
You can connect the R&L analog outputs from a CD or DVD player to the AUX1 or AUX2 analog
inputs. Alternatively, if your CD or DVD player has optical or coax audio output connections,
you can connect the optical or coax connector from the CD or DVD player to the D1 or D2
optical or coax inputs.
CAUTION:
Do NOT make simultaneous optical and coax connections to the D1 input or to the D2
input.
Connect a Blu-Ray player, Cable box, Satellite Receiver or TV to the GIA-275
Most Blu-Ray players, cable boxes, satellite receivers and TVs have analog outputs and/or
digital audio output via optical or coax connections. If the device has analog R&L output
connectors you can connect it to the AUX1 or AUX2 inputs on the GIA-275. If the device has
digital optical or coax audio output you can connect it to the corresponding D1 or D2 connector.
IMPORTANT:
Many Blu-Ray players, cable boxes satellite receivers and TVs have default digital
audio output configured for 5.1 surround sound. The GIA-275 is a stereo device and will not
work properly if the digital audio input stream is encoded for 5.1 surround sound. To overcome
this problem you may need to reset the default audio output on the Blu-Ray player, cable box,
satellite receiver or TV to stereo before it will work with the GIA-275. The audio setup menu
on your Blu-Ray player, cable box, satellite receiver or TV may use a different term for stereo.
Terms such as PCM, LPCM, Standard Audio etc. are common.
CAUTION:
Do NOT make simultaneous optical and coax connections to the D1 input or to the D2
input.
