Connecting the power cable
Insert the mains plug into the AC~ connection (27)
and the power socket.
Note:
Remove the plug from the socket when you are not using
the unit. When doing this, pull on the plug itself and not
on the cable. Remove the mains plug before a
thunderstorm breaks. If the unit is not going to be used
for a prolonged period, e.g. during a long trip, remove the
mains plug.
Using headphones
Hearing damage!
Do not listen to the radio or CDs via headphones at high
volume. This can lead to permanent hearing damage.
Before using headphones adjust the volume on the unit
to the minimum setting.
When headphones (not supplied) are connected the
speakers are muted.
Only use headphones with a 3.5 millimetre jack.
Insert the plug of the headphones into the PHONES
socket (19) on the unit.
Audio playback is now produced exclusively through the
headphones.
If you want to reactivate the speakers, remove the
headphones plug from the unit.
Connecting an external audio source
You can use the unit's speakers to play back the sound
from an external unit (e.g. TV unit, video recorder, MP3
player).
Connect an audio cable from the audio output of
your external unit to the AUX IN port (22) on the side
of the unit. The display expires.
Set the FUNCTION (20) to CD/MP3/AUX mode.
Start the playback from the external unit.
