The connector between the tow vehicle and your R.V. will build up corro-
sion with extended use and should be cleaned periodically to insure elec-
trical contact.
AUXILIARY BATTERY
(Optional in "J" Series Coaches, Standard in Designer Series
Coaches)
If you use your Jayco often without external power, you
m y wish to
purchase an auxiliary battery. This extra battery can be connected to nearly
a11
Jayco units. The battery is installed in parallel circuitry with the battery
on your tow vehicle. Both batteries supply power to your R.V. so it is
important not to discharge the
taw
vehide battery below
the
Ievel of power
required to
start
the engine. To prevent this occurence, you may discon-
nect the wiring harness between the R.V. and tow vehicle or install a battery
isolator. When the
tow
vehicle is operating with the R.V. connected,
the
vehicle's charging system will charge both
the
vehicle battery and the aux-
iliary battery.
BATTERY ISOLATOR
Due to the nature of parallel circuitry, power will be drawn evenly from
both batteries. With the isolator, as power is required, energy is absorbed
from both bafteries. However, before the vehicle battery discharges to the
point it will not
start
the tow vehicle, she isolator will allow power to be
absorbed
from
your vehicle, the isolator will allow power to be absorbed
from your R.V. battery only. For more informatian, consult your dealer,
NOTE
Electric heaters have a high amp draw on power source. Some campgrounds
may
not have
ample power to support these heaters. Never overload any
circuit as
it
can cause fires.
