Wallmount Enclosure

Unpacking

Inspect for damage; if any is observed, notify the shipper immediately. Save the box and packing
material; you can use it to reship the unit, if necessary. Remove the enclosure from the shipping
carton and place on a flat surface as shown in Figure 1-1. Do not place unit in an upright position.
Contents of package:
6-slot Wallmount Enclosure
Wallplate and hardware
Power Cord
Cables

Cooling Requirements

We recommend that you mount the enclosure in an area of unrestricted air flow. Do not block the
top, bottom, or sides. There must be adequate provision for the circulation of cooling air and
exhaust of warm air. The ambient temperature should not exceed 122°F (50°C). Do not install the
enclosure directly above equipment that generates a large amount of heat (such as power
supplies).

Location

The unit requires about 15 inches in the front of the unit so you can install and extract the cards
easily and install cables. Also you should allow for clearance at the rear of the enclosure to
accommodate connections at the back. The location for the optional external power supply which
provides redundancy should also be taken into consideration.
The unit should be installed where it can be easily connected to the T1 line, voice and data cabling
and a power source. A wall mounted flat plywood panel no less than 5/16" thick should be
provided. See Figure 1-2, and follow the steps below, to install the enclosure.
