Wallmount Enclosure Wallmount Enclosure (MP6960) This manual describes the 6-slot Wallmount Enclosure. This unit measures approximately 14 inches high, 14 inches wide and 7.5 inches deep. All cabling is done via front panel mounted connectors. The cards are connected internally through a backplane, which is also the distribution point for the enclosures built-in power supply. -

Wallmount Enclosure Unpacking Inspect for damage; if any is observed, notify the shipper immediately. Save the box and packing material; you can use it to reship the unit, if necessary. Wallmount Enclosure Grounding for Safety and EMC When AC powered, the enclosure must be connected to protective (earth) ground for safety reasons. This is normally done via the power cord’s ground wire, or optionally via a separate ground wire from a grounding post (chassis ground) on the rear panel. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is maximized with the use of shielded cables for data circuits. -

Wallmount Enclosure Ground Start Ground For OB (FXS) voice circuits that use ground start signaling, an explicit ground connection must be made between the Metroplex 6000 and the switching equipment (PBX). Ground start FXS works by connecting the Ring lead of the telephone circuit to earth ground causing current to flow in the Ring lead but not in the Tip lead. -

Wallmount Enclosure Internal Power Supply Replacement Replacement of the internal power supply should be performed by qualified service personnel only. Installing The Connector Retaining Plates (GDC Kit No. 010K027-001) The Flexi-Voice Plus card GDC No. 086P040-001) and Flexi-Data card (GDC Part No. 086P070- 000) uses 50-pin Amphenol cables that mate with the associated front panel connectors. - Page 11 Wallmount Enclosure To install the cards, follow these steps and see Figure 1-5. 1.
