  • Page 13 To initiate the TNC: Open the WinPack terminal program on the computer. On the TM-D700A, press the “F” button on the bottom left of the screen for about two seconds (you will hear two beeps). Be sure you hear it beep twice...
  • Page 14 On the lower left side of the screen you will see “TNC”. Press that button.
  • Page 15 That procedure probably puts the radio in “TNC APRS” mode, note the display in the upper left. For that reason you will need to press the “F” button on the bottom left of the screen again for about two seconds (you will hear two beeps).

  • Page 18 When the TNC is initialized then all packet traffic is automatically transmitted on VFO-A. For that reason, you do not need “PTT” on VFO-A, leave it on VFO-B. Since packet is automatic, you may also leave the volume turned down on VFO-A, just make sure that the squelch is tight enough not to allow white-noise or the Packet will not transmit.
