9.5.5 Useful Functions

9.5.5.1 Verifying Firmware Versions

First, connect the transceiver or operation panel to the computer, and then turn the transceiver or
operation panel ON. Select "Product Information" from the Model dropdown menu. The
transceiver firmware version will appear on the MCP-2A.
Note: To confirm the firmware version of the TNC microprocessor, the firmware version of the operation panel must be 2.00
or later and "APRSxx" or "NAVITRAxx" must be shown on the display.

9.5.5.2 Increasing Size of Characters

Using MCP-2A, select from three sizes of characters with "Font" in the View pulldown menu.
Note:
Use an Operating System function to change the size of characters on the Menu bar.
If you configure the font size for other than 96 dpi for the Menu bar and also select a font other than Normal for MCP-2A,
some of the displayed items may not fit within a window.

9.5.5.3 Configuring the Names for PM or Memory Groups

It is possible to configure the name for each memory with "Memory Group Name" or
"Programmable Memory Name" in the Setup pulldown menu.

9.5.5.4 Configuring User Names with MCP-2A

It is possible to configure the user's name or callsign with "Callsign Setting" in the Setup pulldown
menu. The character string that is input is shown in the About MCP-2A window, in the Title bar
and in the Splash window when the software starts. In addition, when the Start sending the
Morse code checkbox is checked, the character string configured will be played back using Morse
code when the software starts.
Note: Depending on your particular computer used, it may not be possible to play back Morse code.

9.5.5.5 Configuring How Memory Channels Display

Using "Range of Standard Memory Channel" in the Setup pulldown menu, it can be configured
whether memory channels are displayed for configuration in groups of 100 or whether all memory
channels are displayed in one window.
