Taking Still Pictures with Sound (Synchro Sound Record)

A total of 20 seconds, the 10 seconds before and after the shutter release
button is pressed fully, of sounds are recorded with the still picture.

Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode.

The Capture Mode Palette appears.

Use the four-way controller (2345) to select C
(Synchro Sound Record).

Press the 4 button.
The Synchro Sound Record mode is selected and the camera returns
to capture status.

Press the shutter release button halfway.
The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns green if the subject is in focus.

Press the shutter release button fully.
The picture is taken.
A countdown of the remaining recording
time appears on the Instant Review screen.
• You can play back sound recorded in Synchro Sound Record
mode in the same way as playing a voice memo. (p.157)
• In Synchro Sound Record mode, the default setting for focus
mode is 3 (Pan Focus). (p.85)
• Sound recording before taking a picture starts immediately when
Synchro Sound Record mode is selected. Ten seconds of sound
before the shutter release button is pressed fully are recorded with
the still picture. Sound prior to this is not recorded.
• The shutter sound, operation sound, and self-timer sound are
muted when the Synchro Sound Record mode is set.
• If you press the shutter release button fully while the camera is recording
sound after taking the picture, the camera immediately switches to
capture status, so the time that sound is recorded may be reduced.
