Settings and Explanations
Scene Detection
Available when selecting PhotoEnhance as the Enhance setting. Improves the image quality for
photos of people, landscapes, and night scenes.
Fix Red-Eye
Fixes red-eye in photos. Corrections are not applied to the original file, only to the printouts.
Depending on the type of photo, parts of the image other than the eyes may be corrected.
Filter
Prints in sepia or monochrome.
Brightness
Adjusts the brightness of the image.
Contrast
Adjusts the difference between the brightness and darkness.
Sharpness
Enhances or defocuses the outline of the image.
Saturation
Adjusts the vividness of the image.

Settings and Explanations
To Memory
Scans your original and saves the scanned image to the memory card inserted into the printer. You
can change the format, color, or scan area.
To Computer (JPEG)
Saves the scanned image to a computer in JPEG format.
To Computer (PDF)
Saves the scanned image to a computer in PDF format.
To Computer
Attaches the scanned image to an email.
(Email)
To Computer (WSD)
Stores scanned data on a network-connected computer running an English version of Windows 8.1,
Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista.

The following menus are only available for To Memory.

Format
Select the format in which to save the scanned image.
Color
Select whether to scan in color or in monochrome.
Scan Area
Select the scan area.
Auto Cropping: Crops the white space around the text or image when scanning.
Max Area: Scans at the maximum scan area of the scanner glass.
Select this setting and scan again if the edges of the scanned image are cropped when A4 is selected.
Document
Select the type of your original.
Resolution
Select the scanning resolution.
