Troubleshooting Checklist

Please run through the following checklist to make sure the system is
installed and operating correctly:
• Confirm that your water inlet and outlet lines are connected to the
correct ports on the System Head (the ports on the sides of the Head
are labeled either "IN" or "OUT"). If not correctly attached, you must
reverse the lines.
• System must be installed vertically (the water line should enter and
exit the system on its sides--rather than top and bottom).
• Confirm that the Cartridge is inserted correctly (the two holes on the
side of cartridge housing should be at top). To check, remove the
Cartridge by turning the By-Pass valve in Head to "By-Pass" or "Off"
(use provided Wrench), and open the System by unscrewing the Collar
(use the provided Wrench) and separating the Body from the Head.
• After reconnecting the Body to the Head, Confirm that the By-Pass
valve is turned to "Softener" (rather than "Off" or "By-Pass"), according
to the label on the Head. You should hear a click and possibly have some
water leak out of the Head when turning to and from the By-Pass
setting.
• Confirm that you do NOT have any type of carbon based water filter
installed anywhere downstream from the softener system. Filters must
be installed upstream (ahead) of the softener to avoid interfering with its
performance. A POU (point-of-use) filter installed at a single sink is fine
and will only interfere with the water coming from that faucet from being
properly treated.
