Presentd by www.PcXpert.org AIP-W525H_V2 Wifi Repeater, also called Wifi Extender setup Before you start, read this entire document. Configuration Alfa AIP-W525H in "Repeater" mode This setup allows you to connect the AIP-W525H on an existing router, the connection between the two Routers is wireless. In "Repeater" mode, DHCP is disabled, the main router assigns all IP addresses to connected devices.

Open an internet page, type 192.168.2.1 and press « Enter » This page should open...

Click Operation Mode, check Repeater, click Apply, the Router will reboot.

After reboot click on Advanced Settings + Basic Settings and type the main router’s wireless network name in the SSID field [here linksys], also check the “Enable Universal Repeater Mode” box and press “Apply Changes”...

Go to Advanced Setting + Site Survey, check the main routers SSID [here linksys], then click Next. PS. If the main router’s SSID is password protected, a window will open and ask you the password.

If you can see Connect Successfully, go to final step. If not begin from start Final step: click « Reboot Now »...

Your Device is now set in Repeater mode ! =============================================================== 2. Advanced Setup (optional) Option 1. If you want to access your Repeater later, change the LAN address. To do this you must first know the address of the main router. In this example the main router’s address is 192.168.1.1 and the Repeater’s address 192.168.1.2 PS.

Option 2. Use a different SSID for the repeater [here linksys2]...

The difference is, main Router & Repeater will have their own SSID , linksys & linksys2 here, as shown below...

Option 3, Password Protection (also called security key). Important; if the repeater’s SSID is same as main router’s SSID, you have to set the same password. If the main is not password protected, you have to leave the repeater’s SSID unprotected too. If you use a different SSID for the Repeater, you can do the setup with or without password.
