It is not possible to play PlayStation 2 format discs on your PLAYSTATION 3

system while PlayTV™ is recording. If you change the Background Recording settings,
you must restart the PLAYSTATION 3 system before the new settings will be applied. If a
®
recording is currently underway the changed settings will not be applied to it.
SCREEN SIZE
PlayTV™ allows you to choose the size and proportions, or "aspect ratio", of the
on-screen video display according to the type of TV you are using. Choose from
the following:
4:3
• Letterbox 16:9
• Letterbox 14:9
• Centre Cut Out
16:9
• 4:3
• 14:9
• Zoom
• Wide
• Auto
NOTE: An aspect ratio of 4:3 is suitable for standard definition televisions, while an aspect
ratio of 16:9 is suitable for high definition televisions.
SUBTITLES
Choose the language of programme subtitles from those available in your region, turn
subtitles on or off and choose the type of subtitles from either normal or hard of hearing.
AUDIO
Choose an audio language from those available in your region, choose the type of audio
from either normal or hard of hearing and toggle audio description on or off. You can also
adjust the volume of the audio description.
SETUP
View and adjust a range of PlayTV™ settings, perform a new Channel Scan or perform a
full PlayTV™ setup.
