Your 2 GB memory kit includes two 1 GB DIMMs. To use these DIMMs, you must have an Octane R12000 class workstation that was shipped from the factory with a 270 MHz or faster CPU, running version 6.5.6 or later of the IRIX operating system. Loosen the captive screws that hold the sliding handles on the system module to the workstation.

If your workstation does not have a DIMM bracket installed, skip this section.

If there are no 1 GB DIMMs currently installed, remove the lower density DIMMs populating bank 1.
