4. Pull the drive release latch on the left side of the drive toward the center of the adjacent drive
bays, slide the drive to the rear of the bay then, then lift the drive from the bay.
Removing the CD-ROM Drive
When replacing this drive, transfer the four wafer-head screws—two on each side of the drive—
that take the place of drive rails from the old drive to the new one.
To replace the drive, reverse the removal procedures.
CAUTION: When servicing the computer, ensure that cables are placed in their proper locations during
the reassembly process. Improper cable placement can damage the computer.
CAUTION: Use only 3/16-inch or 5-mm long screws as guide screws. Longer screws can damage the
internal components of the drive.
