LUBRICATION

Frequency
Routine maintenance is necessary for all
mechanized products, and the snowmo-
bile is no exception. A weekly vehicle in-
spection contributes to the life span of
the snowmobile as well as retains safe
and dependable operation. It is recom-
mended that the steering system and sus-
pension be lubricated monthly or every
40 hours of operation. If the vehicle is
operated in wet snow or in severe con-
ditions these items should be lubricated
more frequently.

NOTE:
When lubricating grease fit-
tings, grease until grease appears
at joints. Always use low temperature
grease (P/N 413 7061 00).

cedures as detailed in this manual.
It is recommended that dealer assistance
be periodically obtained on other com-
ponents/systems not covered in this
manual. Unless otherwise specified, en-
gine should be turned OFF for all lubri-
cation and maintenance procedures.
Steering Mechanism
WARNING: Do not lubricate throt-
tle and/or brake cables and hous-
ings.
Lubricate the ski legs and spring coupler
bolts at grease fittings until new grease
appears at joints.
Coat spring slider cushion with grease.
Oil ball joints and steering column bush-
ings.
