Raise

rear
of vehicle and
support
it

stands
Place
stands
solidly
under
body
member
on
both
sides

Remove
rear
wheels

Disconnect hand brake cables
by
removing adjusting
nut
at
adjuster

and
return
spring
CV

Remove
drive
shaft
flange
nuts
CID
on
the wheel side
and bound
rubber
fixing
nut

Disconnect
rear
brake
hose
ID
at
suspension
arm
6
Position
jack
under
suspension
arm
and raise
jack
shghtly
to relieve
tension
on
shock
absorber
Discon
nect shock absorbers
at
lower
end
7
Carefully
lower
jack
to
fully
extend
spring
after
disconnecting
shock
absorber
and
remove
spring
spring
seat
and bound
rubber

yield
deformation
or
cracks

spring
and
compare
with
the
specifications
given
in
Service
Data and
Specifications

Check all rubber
parts
for
wear
damage
and
deformation
Replace
if
necessary
Installation
Install
coil
spring
in the
reverse
order
of removal
noting
the follow
ing points
Install
spring
seat
on
top
of
spring
and
bound
rubber
in
spring
and
ensure
that
coil
spring
is
cor
rectly
in
position
flat face of
spring
is
top

Tightening
torque
values must be
used
as
follows

shock
absorber

removing
bolt

suspension

Test

and

pare
with

place
if
necessary

oil
leakage
and cracks

check shaft

straightness

rubber
bushings
for
damage
cracks and deformation
Re
place parts
if necessary
Installation
Installation of shock
absorber
is
the
reverse
order of removal
Note
Vehicle
weight
must
be
on
rear
wheels when
tightening
shock
absorber lower end
in
onler
to
clamp
rubber
bushings
in
a
neutral
or
unloaded
position

housing
and
shock
absorber
lower
mounting
bracket
are
welded
suspension

Removal

Raise
the
rear
of
vehicle
and
support
under
body
member
on
stands

Remove
rear
wheel
and
brake
drum
3
Disconnect drive shaft from axle
shaft
4
Disconnect
hand
brake
cable
from
lever
attached
to
wheel
cyl
inder
5
Disconnect
brake
hose
from
brake
tube
by removing
lock
spring
and draw out
through
connector
