This s ection d escribes h ow t o c onfigure w ireless i f y ou p urchased a w ireless k it. I t
only c overs c onfiguration a s a n a ccess p oint, t hough y ou c an a lso u se t he w ireless
interface f or A d-­‐hoc n etworks ( IBSS) a nd f or c onnecting t o o ther a ccess p oints
(BSS).
Assigning t he i nterface
First y ou n eed t o a ssign t he w ireless i nterface ( ath0). B rowse t o I nterfaces -­‐ >
(assign). C lick t he t o a dd a n ew o ptional ( OPT) i nterface, O PT1. I n t he d rop d own
box, s elect a th0.
Then c lick S ave.
Configuring t he i nterface
Next y ou w ill b rowse t o I nterfaces -­‐ > O PT1 t o c onfigure y our w ireless s ettings. E ach
of t he f ollowing s ections c overs p ortions o f t his c onfiguration s creen. F irst y ou w ill
want t o c heck " Enable O ptional 1 i nterface", a nd y ou c an c hange t he n ame f rom
OPT1 t o a nything y ou l ike, i f d esired ( ex: " Wireless").
