  • Page 25 SETUP GUIDE SETUP GUIDE Motor Gearing: The important thing is to keep the motor in its optimal RPM range as much as possible around the entire track. This will depend on the straight-away length and the size of the infi eld turns. The chart below is a guide to give you a starting point.   • Page 26 SETUP GUIDE SETUP GUIDE Camber Location: The Type R has four different camber link locations on the front shock tower. In general, the most camber gain (total cam- ber change through the total throw of the suspension) is achieved in hole #4. Moving upward or inward will decrease the amount of camber gain.
  • Page 27 Spool: A spool is a locked front axle and has the benefi ts of the acceleration of a one-way with the stability and precise braking capabilities of a differential. The front of the Type R is equipped with Team Losi LCD (Losi Constant Drive, Patent Pending) axles. The front drive axles were exclusively designed for spool type racing to eliminate the chatter that spools cause at high speed steering angles.
  • Page 28 fl ange area. Hex Widths: The Type R comes equipped with plastic narrow hexes (.165”). With Team Losi Aluminum Clamping Hexes it is possible to widen the car in .030” increments. The rear of the car is maxed out at 190mm, however the front can be widened with different hexes.
