Accounts and Sync
Settings
From the Home screen, touch
Settings > Accounts and Sync.
• Background Data—allows
applications, such as e-mail, to send
and receive data at any time.
• Auto-sync—allows applications,
such as e-mail, to synchronize with
the server automatically.
• Select an account to change the
sync settings.
For information about e-mail account
settings, see page 101.
Security and Location
Settings
From the Home screen, touch
Settings > Security and Location.
• My Parking Spot—saves your
parking spot when you remove the

device from the mount while power
is applied to it.
• Use Wireless Networks—
>
determines your location using
Wi-Fi and mobile networks.
• Use GPS Satellites—determines
your location using GPS satellites.
Using a Pattern to Unlock the
Screen
When the screen-unlock pattern is
turned on, you must enter a pattern to
unlock the device. You can still use the
device to contact emergency services
without using the screen-unlock
pattern.
1. From the Home screen, touch
Settings > Security and Location
> Set Unlock Pattern.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions to
create an unlock pattern.
