    Using the classic setup of a quartet of el84’s biased close to true Class A at 30 watts, the Stang Ray tips its hat to classic British tones, but like all Dr.Z amps, has its own unique voice. The preamp uses an EF-86, and it has a 12AX7 phase inverter.

    Changing the EL84 output tubes on your Stang Ray is easy. These amps are cathode (self) biased so there is no need to rebias when changing tubes. Always use a matched quad of EL84’s.

    General Maintenance: • If you experience intermittent crackle/static type sounds make sure the 4 screws that secure the chassis are tight. If a bit loose, the chassis will lose connection to the RF shield. • Make sure a speaker is connected to your amplifier before you turn it on. Always match your speaker or cabinet to the proper ohm rating on the rear of the amp (8 ohm speaker or cab into the 8 ohm jack.) •...
