Using the Diagnostic Tool
VIEWING ABS DTCs
4. If more than one code was retrieved press the DTC/SCROLL
button, as necessary, to display additional codes one at a time.
Whenever the Scroll function is used to view additional codes,
the Diagnostic Tool's communication link with the vehicle's
computer disconnects. To re-establish communication, press the
POWER/LINK
5. When the last retrieved DTC has been displayed and the
DTC/SCROLL
the Enhanced Main Menu.
To exit the enhanced mode, press the FF/M
Diagnostic Tool returns to the OBD2 DTC screen.
Erasing ABS DTCs
If you plan to take the vehicle to a Service Center for repair, DO NOT
erase the ABS DTCs from the vehicle's computer. If the codes are
erased, valuable information that might help the technician troubleshoot
the problem will be erased.
1. With the Diagnostic Tool in "ABS Mode" (see Reading ABS DTCs
on page 48 for details), press the ERASE
2. A confirmation message shows on the
LCD display.
If you are sure you want to proceed,
press the ERASE
erase the ABS DTCs from the
vehicle's computer.
If you do not want to continue with
the erase process, press the FF/M
button to exit the erase mode and return to the Enhanced
Main Menu.
3. If you chose to erase ABS DTCs, a progress screen displays while
the erase function is in progress.
If the erase was successful, a
confirmation message shows on the
LCD display. Press the POWER/
LINK
Diagnostic Tool to the vehicle.
If the erase was not successful, an
advisory message shows on the
LCD
