Minimum Clearances Although these are minimum clearances, please note that the air expelled to the front of heat pumps is extremely cold which needs to be taken into consideration. As cold air sinks, placing an air to water heat pump in a small, enclosed garden will chill the air available to the unit, and impede its operation and efficiency. -
