SIDE CUTTER

NOTE: Peel off protective paper, taking care not to touch
knife before use.
The Side Cutter is used to trim and overedge at one time.
Attaching the Side Cutter
1. Turn off the power switch and unplug the sewing machine.
2. Raise the needle and presser foot to their highest
positions.
3. Attach presser foot (A).
4. Thread the needle and bobbin. Take the upper and bobbin
threads and slip both ends under the foot toward the back.
5. Flip lever (H) of the Cutting Attachment into the up
position.
6. Place the Side Cutter on the needle plate and slide it to
the left and back until pin (F) slides into hole (G) and
mounting lever (H) slides into hole (I) on the needle plate.
This should automatically wrap fork lever (C) around the
needle clamp and position the front (B) directly over the
presser foot (A).
7. Once the Side Cutter is properly seated, hold the front
mounting lever (H) down with your right hand. This will
"lock" the Side Cutter in place.
Machine setup
8. Select stitch.
-Overedge stitch at medium to wide width setting for
seaming and overedging on two layers.
- Zigzag or overedge stitch at medium to wide width
setting for overedging on single layer.
- Straight stitch at left needle position for seaming on two
layers.
9. Set stitch length at default setting.
10. Set sewing speed at low to medium.
Preparing fabric before sewing
Starting to Sew
13. Raise needle and presser foot to their highest positions.
14. Place fabric onto guide bar (L) as shown:
through the needle plate.

Insert right side (N) of cut into right of knife (O).
15. Lower presser foot. Turn hand wheel toward you to ensure
that needle clears the needle opening and presser foot.
16. Sew.
NOTE:
- When sewing thin fabric, stretch fabric slightly when it is
being trimmed.
when sewing.
- Clean dust and lint on Side Cutter and Feed Dogs after
use.
- Prior to sewing, always turn the hand wheel toward you
to ensure that the needle clears the needle opening and
presser foot.
