This supplement is intended to provide the user with the additional information required to operate the
CDR850PLUS and is to be used in conjunction with the standard Operating Instructions of the CDR850.
Thank you for purchasing the CDR850 PLUS. The PLUS provides the user with the ability to lock the
machine's master clock to a variety of external 44.1KHz clock sources including wordclock. In addition, a
balanced digital output is featured, allowing the greater cable lengths necessary in large installations
without the inherent signal degradation.
EXTERNAL SYNCHRONISATION
In today's digital studio environment, it is becoming more and more important to be able to
lock/synchronise all digital equipment to a common sampling frequency or house clock. The effects of
'unlocked' equipment are all too noticeable as signal degradation, crackles and pops as machines 'clock'
at different rates.
The CDR850 PLUS can be set (via a 4-way dipswitch on the rear panel) to 'lock' to a number of different
clock sources as indicated in the following table:

Any combination of switch position that does not appear in the above table will result in the 850 PLUS
reverting to INTERNAL.
