8. Connectors and Connector Layout

Serial Port
Purpose:
The rear panel serial connector allows a local terminal to configure and report all aspects of the
operation of the Power Amplifier.
Serial Format:
The serial communications format is 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. Handshaking should be disabled.
If the option is available, the terminal software should be configured to send a "Backspace, Space,
Backspace" sequence when the Backspace key is pressed.
Data Rate:
The data rate is preset in the factory to 9600 bits per second, it can be changed by software command
to another rate (See the SET BAUD command)
Connections:
The terminal connection is a DCE type via a female 9 pin 'D' screw-lock socket located on the rear
panel of the Power Amplifier. A standard straight through serial cable can be used to connect the serial
port to a PC serial port. The connections are:
