Initial operation

Always use the correct supply voltage:
The mains voltage must correspond to the data
on the machine rating plate. 230 V machines
may also be operated at 220 V.
Switching on/off
Switching on: Slide ON/OFF switch 4 forwards
Switching off: Slide ON/OFF switch 4 back-
wards
Selecting the Oscillation Rate
With the thumbwheel 3, the rate of

oscillation can be selected (also
during operation).

The optimum speed depends on the material
and should be determined by carrying out a prac-
tical test.

Changing the Sanding Sheet

Attaching the Sanding Sheet
The sanding plate is covered with
Velcro material. The sanding sheet
can therefore be quickly and simply
attached with Velcro fastening.
Knock the dust out of the Velcro material on the
sanding plate before applying the sanding sheet.
Place the sanding sheet flush with one side of
the sanding plate. Then lay the sanding sheet
down and press on with a light clockwise turning
motion.
Accessories such as fleece or polishing felt are
fastened to the sanding plate in the same man-
ner.
Removing the Sanding Sheet
Take hold of the sanding sheet at one of the
points and pull off.

Replacing the Sanding Plate

Push the SDS slider 6 to the right as far as pos-
sible (
) and remove the sanding plate 8 (see
main illustration).
To attach the sanding plate 8, press on (
lock with the SDS slider (
If the front point of the sanding sheet is worn
out, for example, the complete sanding plate
can be removed and – rotated by 120° – re-
attached.

Using the Accessories

The attachment and removal of all sanding ac-
cessories are made in the same manner as the
replacement of the sanding plate.
Louver Sanding Attachment (Fig. A)
The use of the louver sanding attachment 10
makes possible the sanding of especially hard-
to-reach places, e.g., louvers on windows, cabi-
nets and doors.
Sanding Tongue, Flat (Fig. B)
The flat sanding tongue 13 makes possible the
sanding of small slots or narrow spaces, for ex-
ample.
It can also be provided with Velcro material 12
on the upper surface for the attachment of a
sanding sheet 11.
Sanding Tongue, Oval (Fig. C)
The oval sanding tongue 14 is already covered
on both sides with Velcro material.
sheets 11 can therefore be attached to both
sides.
In this manner, sanding of forms, especially
curved or hollow objects or concave surfaces
such as on furniture, railings or heating radiators
is possible.
Gripping Surface
The gripping surface 5 attached to the upper
side of the machine prevents slipping and im-
proves the grip and handling of the machine.
As a result of the black rubber layer, a vibration
absorbing effect is achieved at the same time.
