Replacing the power supply

This section provides information on how to remove and replace the power supply.

Attention
Never remove the cover on a power supply or any part that has the
following label attached.
Hazardous voltage, current, and energy levels are present inside any
component that has this label attached. There are no serviceable parts inside
these components.
Attention
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the
"Important safety information" in the ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide that came with
your computer. To obtain a copy of the ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide, go to:

1. Remove the cover. See "Removing the cover" on page 117.
2. Remove the drive bay assembly. See "Accessing system board components
and drives" on page 119.
3. Disconnect all power supply cables from the system board. See "Locating
parts on the system board" on page 119.
4. Remove the hard disk drive. See "Replacing the hard disk drive" on page 133.
Note: Observe the power supply cable routing underneath the hard disk
drive.
5. The system board must be moved out of the way to remove the power supply.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis and slide the
system board away from the power supply.
Note: You do not have to remove the system board from the chassis to
remove the power supply.
