Throughout the development of this fine product, we have primarilv

to this equipment. For the fastest repair sel'viG. it is important that
you cornplete the WARRANTY REGISTRATION CARD and
return it as soon as possible.
Important l{otice
Navigation based solely' on one method or one instrument should
never be practiced. The Star Pilot 6 GPS should be considered as an
aid to navigation. not ils the only means of navigation. Whilc the
Global Positioning System is usually reliable and accurate. certain
conditions and some locations may cause a deterioration in perlbr-
mance of this or any other GPS. It is therefore important for the new
user to learn about the lirnitations of this systcm.
Warranty Informntion
Interphase Technologies, Inc. provides a limited one-year warranty
on the Star Pilot 6. Please note that there are limitations to our
warranty. We strongly urge you to read this warranty reprlnted at the
back of this manual and closely follow its terms and conditions
should your receiver require repair. Please note that all repair work
performed during the wananty period must be pertormed by
Interphase or an authorized Interphase Service Center for the unit
to remain under warranty.
We have found that many problems experienced by GPS users are
not caused by a defect in the unit. but insteacl are often the result of
the user not completely understanding its proper method of opcration.
Therefbre. we strongly recommcnd that should you experience a
problem with your Star Pilot 6 you first call Interphase and ask to
speak to our Technical Support Department. We will be more than
happy to try and assist 1'ou on the phone and, if required, will give
you instructions on how to quickly get your set repaired.
Interphase maintains a staff of trained technicians in Santa Cruz, CA
who can quickly repair and return your sct to rts original specifica-
tions. We strongly recommend that for the fastest service. if your set
does require repair. you send it direct to Interphase and not return it
to the de aler. For fastest responsc, please make a copy of or fill out
and use the repair request fbrm at the end of this manual. Mark the
outside of the box "FOR SERVICE REPAIR".
