4 Replacement Procedures
Installing the Expansion Memory
CAUTION: Do not touch the connectors on the expansion memory module or on the
computer. Debris on the connectors may cause memory access problems.
To install a memory module, follow these steps and refer to the figures in the preceding
section.
1. Set the computer to boot mode and turn off the power.
2. Remove the black non-separate screw with RAM door M2.5x6.5 screw securing the
memory module socket cover.
3. Slide your fingernail or a thin object under the cover and lift it off.
4. Fit the module's connectors into the computer's connectors at about a 45-degree angle
and press the module carefully to ensure a firm connection.
5. Push the module down so it lies flat. The latches on either side will click into place to
secure the module.
6. Seat the cover and secure its screw.
