INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS Selecting a Location Before choosing a location for your new phone, here are some important guidelines you should consider: The location should be close to both a phone jack and a power outlet. Keep the base and handset away from sources of electrical noise such as motors and fluorescent lighting.

THE INTEGRATED ANSWERING DEVICE The DGAI980 has a built-in answering system to answer and record your incoming calls. You can use your answering system to record a conversation, leave a memo message for others who use the phone, or to answer the phone with your personalised message when you are away.
SETTING THE CLOCK The clock on the DGAI980 Answering System starts when power is applied to the base. To set the correct time: 1. Press and hold clock until a tone sounds. 2. Press until the correct skip repeat day is announced. Numbers 0 through 6 display as each day is announced.
RECORDING YOUR OUTGOING MESSAGE When you receive a call, the answering system automatically plays either a preset greeting, or your own personal greeting. Preset message The following message is prerecorded: “Hello, no one is available to take your call. Please leave a message after the tone.” Recording your personal Greeting 1.
