Using Traffic

Using Traffic
Your zūmo can receive FM TMC (Traffic
Message Channel) traffic or MSN
traffic content, depending upon the traffic
receiver connected to your zūmo.
Your zūmo displays both types of traffic
content in the same manner.
NOTe
Garmin is not responsible for the accuracy of the traffic
information.

Traffic

You can only access the traffic information
if your zūmo is connected to an optional FM
traffic receiver. For more information, see

with an optional MSN Direct receiver. For

Receiving Traffic
Information
To power connector on the cradle
To receive traffic information, the following
conditions must be met:
The traffic receiver must be connected to
the zūmo.
The traffic receiver and the zūmo must be
connected to an external power source.

To power outlet n car
Internal antenna
The traffic receiver and the zūmo
must be in data range of an FM station
transmitting traffic information.
NOTe
Heated (metallized) windshields could degrade the
performance of the traffic receiver.

Traffic in Your Area

When you are receiving traffic information,
a traffic icon appears in the upper-left corner
of the Map page. The traffic icon changes
color to indicate the severity of traffic
conditions on your route or on the road you
are currently traveling.

Severity Color Code

Color
Description
Meaning
Traffic is flowing
Green
Low severity
normally.
Medium
Traffic is slightly
Yellow
severity
congested.
Traffic is heavily
Red
High severity
congested or
stopped.
