 Avoid engine lug-down or overspeed.
Select appropriate gears according
to road surface conditions.
 Avoid constant acceleration and
deceleration, as driving in a
stop-and-go manner will waste fuel.
 Avoid unnecessary stopping or
braking. During driving, keep a
steady vehicle speed while taking
traffic signals into consideration;
and if possible, take a road without
traffic lights to minimise stopping
times. Keep a proper distance from
the vehicle in front of you to avoid
hard braking, which is also helpful
to reduce brake wear.
 Avoid driving in traffic peak hours
or traffic jam areas.
 Do not rest your feet on clutch
pedal or brake pedal. It will cause
premature wear, overheating and
higher fuel consumption.
 Keep appropriate speed when
driving on a motorway.
3-8 Emergency Treatment
BYD AUTO S6 Owner's Manual
Driving at appropriate speed can
reduce fuel consumption.
 Keep all wheels in proper
alignment. Do not collide with curbs,
and slow down on rough roads.
Bad alignment of all wheels may
cause premature tyre wear, and
also increase engine load and fuel
consumption.
 Keep the chassis clean and free of
mud and similar materials. It helps
to reduce vehicle weight and
prevent corrosion.
 Adjust and keep the vehicle at
optimum performance. Dirty air
filter element, spark plugs, engine
oil and lubricant, improper throttle
clearance, badly adjusted brake,
etc. may have bad effect on engine
performance and increase fuel
consumption. To extend service life
of all parts and reduce operating
expense, regular maintenance is
required. When driving in poor
conditions, such as bad weather,
maintenance to the car shall be
more frequent (Refer to Chapter 6).

Auto Fire Prevention Tips

effectively, please be familiar with and

explosive materials in the vehicle.
When a vehicle is subjected to
prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
during the summer, the inner
temperature may exceed 60-70 °C. It
is possible that fire may occur, even
explosion if there is inflammable and
explosive material in the vehicle, such
as cigarette-lighter, cleaner, perfume,
etc.
b. Ensure that any cigarette butts
have been extinguished completely
after smoking
Smoking is not only harmful to your
health, but can also to be the root of
fire. It is possible to cause a fire if the
butt is not extinguished completely.
