Safety Check Before Driving

It is recommended to perform a safety
check before driving. It may take you
a few minutes, but is important for
your driving safety and enjoyment.
Before checking, familiarise yourself
with the vehicle parts, or have them
checked by a BYD service station.
Check Engine Before Starting
Vehicle Exterior Conditions
Tyres: check the tyre pressure using a
tyre gauge, inspect carefully if there
are notches, breakage and foreign
materials on the wheel tread,and if
the tyres are abnormally or
excessively worn.
Wheel Nuts: make sure no nuts are
loose or missing.
Leakage: after the car hasstopped,
check for fuel, engine oil, water or
other fluid leakage under the car.
(Water drops produced by the AC
system are normal.)

Lighting: make sure headlights,
parking lights, width-indicator lights,
indicator lights and other lights work
normally. Check illumination intensity
of headlights.
Vehicle Interior Conditions
Spare tyre, jack and wheel nut wrench:
check tyre pressure and make sure
the jack and wrench are in place.
Seat belt: check whether the buckle
fastens the seat belt firmly. Make sure
the seat belt has no wear or
scratching.
Meters and Controllers: confirm that
meter indicators, lights and defrost
system function normally.
Brake: make sure the pedal has
enough free play.
Engine Cabin Interior Conditions
Coolant level: check that the coolant
level is correct.
Engine oil level: stop the car on level
ground, then check the oil level with
the oil gauge dipstick. (Refer to
description in section 7.)
Battery and cables: check if the
connectors are loose or corroded and
if there are cracks on the battery
housing.
Fuel Pipe: check if there is oil leakage
or poor connection in the fuel pipe.
