Making Trunked Telephone
Calls
In order to make a telephone
call from your radio, it must be
authorized to access the telephone
network on the trunked system
selected.
To make a telephone call from
a trunked system, press the
telephone interconnect button;
listen for a dial tone.
If a busy tone is heard when
the telephone interconnect button is
pressed, all telephone channels are
busy. You are placed in queue for
an available channel. When you
hear a dial tone, proceed normally.
Dial the desired telephone
number using the keypad. When
the person answers, transmit
normally.
Note: Tell the person answering
that you are talking from a radio;
that they should wait to hear the
"beep" after you speak before
replying. Otherwise, if they talk
while you are transmitting, you
won't be able to hear what they are
saying.
When your call is complete,
press the telephone interconnect
button again to hang up.
