[68] How to Use
AF Illuminator (still image)
The AF illuminator supplies fill light to focus more easily on a subject in dark surroundings. The red AF
illuminator allows the product to focus easily when the shutter button is pressed halfway, until the focus
is locked.
1. MENU →
(Camera Settings) → [
Menu item details
Auto (default setting):
Uses the AF illuminator.
Off:
Does not use the AF illuminator.
Note
You cannot use [
In movie mode
In [Sweep Panorama] mode
When [Focus Mode] is set to [Continuous AF].
When [Scene Selection] is set to [Landscape], [Sports Action], [Night Scene], [Pet] or [Fireworks].
When [Focus Area] is set to [Wide], the AF range finder frame is indicated by a dotted line.
The AF illuminator emits a very bright light. Although there is no health hazard, do not look directly
into the AF illuminator at close range.
[69] How to Use
Eye AF
The camera focuses on the subject's eyes while you keep the button pressed.
1. MENU →
(Custom Settings) → [Custom Key Settings] → assign the [Eye AF] function to the
desired button.
2. Point the camera at a person's face, and press the button to which you have assigned the [Eye AF]
function.
3. Press the shutter button while pressing the button.
Note
Depending on the circumstances, the camera may not be able to focus on the eyes. In such cases,
the camera detects a face and focuses on the face.
