3. Check the LEDs on the hub's front panel. When
the hub is powered on, it performs
a 3 to 60 second self-diagnostic test. When the
test completes, the following occurs:
– Power LED is on.
– RPS LED is on if a Redundant Power Supply is
connected (available at the end of 1995).
– Fault LED is off.
– If an SNMP Module is installed, the Exp Slot
LED is on.
If the Fault LED stays on, the hub has
encountered an unrecoverable error. See
chapter 4, "Troubleshooting".
4. Before mounting, unplug the hub.
5. Install the hub into a rack or cabinet following
pages 1-5 through 1-10 (in the accompanying hub
manual) and power the hub back on.
1. Push the RJ-45 plug into the RJ-45 jack until the
tab on the plug clicks into place.
2. Push the other end of the cable into the LAN
adapter in the end node such as a PC, printer, or
print server.
