Shooting in Program AE

You can choose the settings for various functions to suit your preferences.
AE stands for Auto Exposure.
What if the shutter speed and aperture value appear in
orange?
If a correct exposure cannot be obtained when pressing the shutter button
halfway, the shutter speed and aperture value are shown in orange. Try the
following settings to obtain the correct exposure.
Turn on he flash (p. 66)
Choose a higher ISO speed (p. 70)

Set the mode switch to 4 (p. 42).
Choose G.
Choose G in Step 2 on p. 54 and press
the m button.
Adjust the settings according to
your purposes (pp. 65 – 76).
Shoot.
