Check engine oil level; change as required.

Check engine cooling air intake; visually
inspect unshrouded area around engine
exhaust for grass and debris and clean if
necessary.
Check air pressure and adjust if necessary.
See Vehicle Specifications on page 40.
Wash engine compartment and underside of
vehicle. Do not wash engine when hot.
Clean terminals and wash dirt from casing;
check electrolyte level. Add distilled water if
necessary. See page 36.
Check and adjust if necessary. See Steering
and Front Suspension Section in the
appropriate maintenance and service
manual.
Check for tightness and damage
Inspect master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake
lines, and hoses for damage or leakage.
Check park brake cables for damage; replace
if necessary.
Check brake shoes and drums; replace if
necessary. See Wheel Brake Assemblies
Section in the appropriate maintenance
and service manual.
Check for leaks around gaskets, fill plugs, etc.
Inspect, clean and gap spark plug; replace if
necessary.
Check air filter element; clean or replace if
necessary.
Check clamps for tightness; check hose for
cracks.
Check for loose hardware and tighten if
necessary.
Replace. Dispose of used filters properly. See
Engine Oil And Filter Change on page 31.
