2.5 PRISMAspool Licenses, page 18 2.1 Introduction to PRISMAspool PRISMAspool is a powerful product family, which offers scalable and efficient print solu- tions for the professional office-printing environment. PRISMAspool supports all kinds of PCL printers. It is designed to accommodate the demands of business with heavy print volumes and to make work for operating persons as easy as possible.

    - The Barcode translation plug-in - The Encryption plug-in The Input Filter plug-in and the Encryption plug-in are part of PRISMAspool Base compo- nents while the PCL Barcode translation plug-in need a dedicated license. Plug-ins are binaries that can be executed at different spooling times depending of their configuration in the registry.
  • Page 38 Installing Plug-ins Installation The configuration of the Plug-ins is stored in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OcePrintingSystems\Spooler\Plugins) during the PRISMAspool installation. This configuration defines which plug-ins will be executed at which spooling time. The different spooling times for Plug-ins are: • At the beginning of the submission of a job to the spooler (IF_PRE)
  • Page 39 Installation Installing Plug-ins The activated plug-ins are called in ascending order of their name, starting at name "0". Plug-ins processing ends after execution of plug-in "n" if no plug-in with name n+1 exists. Example This screen shows the IF_PRE Plug-ins configuration. At the beginning of the job submis- sion to the spooler, the Input Filter plug-in is executed before the PCL Barcode translation plug-in while the Encryption module is not executed.
  • Page 40 If the PCL Barcode translation component is installed at the same time as the PRIS- MAspool server, the PCL Barcode translation plug-in is defined and activated (name "1"). If the corresponding license is valid on PRISMAspool server, it will be executed after the Input Filter plug-in.
  • Page 41: Input Filter

For details about Input Filters usage, refer to Input Filter configuration chapter (5.3.1). 4.3.1.1 Installation and activation After PRISMAspool installation, the input filter plug-in is defined and active in the IF_PRE plug-ins configuration. • Page 79: Command Printer

Select "COMMAND" in the connection type drop list. PRISMAspool uses a command printer by creating a job file and then calling a command or a program. For example, use the LPR command to send print data via the LPR com- mand.
  • Page 80 Select the printer type COMMAND. In the edit box, enter the command to call after the job data has been created. To give job parameters to the command, the PRISMAspool uses parameters starting with a "%". For example, %Y will be replaced by the path and file name of the created job file.

To enable this option, set the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Oce Printing Systems\PRISMAspool\Options\EnableFeedBackFrom- CalledBatch to true (non zero). Remember you have to restart the OspServer service to take this option into account.
  • Page 82 With this option, PRISMAspool will wait XXX amount of time between two updates of the printer display column. This option is mainly designed for developing the batch/binary file. It will impact the PRISMAspool processing speed. The use of this option is shown by the following examples.
  • Page 83 PRISMASPOOLEnd of Batch file Within this example, only echo that starts with PRISMASPOOL will be displayed. The feed back from ping command will not. Note: We suggest inserting "@echo off" at the beginning of your batch file. This command prevents the user from watching the batch program execute (even if PRISMAspool is able to filter them).
