CONES (CONT'D)
King Kutter 6000 Series Ops Manual
CONE #4
Radishes, Carrots – Fill hopper full of radishes and press firmly with
protective hand cover. For carrot curls, lay carrot flat across cutter and
press firmly with protective hand cover.
Onions – For hamburger or sandwiches where very thin slices are desired.
Also for frying. Best results are obtained if onion is cut in half and round
side or outside is placed next to cutter.
Pickles – Ideal for slicing pickles for hamburger, sandwiches or canning.
Sauerkraut – Prepare same as cole slaw. This cutter is the fastest and
finest kraut cutter ever built.
Slaw – The proper cut for cole slaw is delicate, lacy shreds which the No. 4
Cutter will give you. Cut cabbage in halves and remove the heart (which
you can cut with Shredder No. 1). Cut a large cabbage into quarters.
Always cut the cabbage against the grain and cutting into the side – not
into the leafy back side.
CONE #5
Potatoes – Do not peel. Just cut and fry in cooking oil to a golden brown.
Sweet potatoes, which must first be peeled, are also excellent when
waffled.
Apples – Cut apples in halves and remove core. Do not peel. Makes
beautiful apple slices – ringed with waffle-red – for pies, fruit salads or
apple-cabbage salad. When garnishing, place slices around the salad, red
side up.
Beets – Do not peel for cooking. Slice peeling and all, cook and butter.
For pickled beets, slice cooked beets and pickle. Excellent for canning.
Bananas – Slice for fruit salads. Fast and attractive.
Carrots – Do not peel. Slice with waffler, cook and season. Very
decorative for salads.
