Your router is an “all-in-one” unit, combining an ADSL modem, ADSL router and Ethernet network switch, providing everything you need to get the machines on your network connected to the Internet over your ADSL broadband connection.

    Open your web browser, enter the IP address of your router, which by default is 192.168.1.254, and click “Go”, a user name and password window prompt will appear. The default username and password are “admin” and “hamlet”. Congratulation! You are now successfully logon to the ADSL2+ Router!

In addition to this, when using NAT (Network Address Translation) the router acts as a “natural” Internet firewall, since all PCs on your LAN use private IP addresses that cannot be directly accessed from the Internet.
