Basic operation

Switching the camcorder on and off

To turn on the camera, open up the LCD panel.
The display shows information and the operation LED shines green.
To turn the camera off, shut the LCD panel or press the Power button.

Changing the mode of operation

The camera has a record and a playback mode.
When you turn the camcorder on, it is in the record mode. You can take photos and films (see Making recordings,
page 8).
To switch from record mode to playback mode, press MODE.
To switch from playback mode to record mode, press MODE again.

The display in the record mode

The indicators shown below may be displayed on the LCD screen while movies and pictures are being recorded:
