Entering Text

Selecting a Character Input Mode
Your phone provides convenient ways to enter words, letters,
numbers, and symbols whenever you are prompted to enter
text (for example, when adding a Contacts entry or when
sending text messages).
1. From a screen where you can enter text, press Mode (right
softkey) to change the character input mode.
2. Select one of the following options and press
Note: The menus displayed vary according to the entry field. Some options are
grouped. If you see a triangle on the right of a menu, you can press the right
and left navigation keys to switch among grouped options.
T9 Word to enter characters using T9 Text Input (see
page 26).
Alphabet to enter characters by using Alphabet mode
(see page 28).
SYMBOL to enter symbols (see page 29).
SMILEYS to enter smiley pictures (see page 29).
Emoticons to enter emotion icons (see page 29).
Web Shortcut to enter Web shortcuts (for example,
www., http://, or .com).
Preset Msgs to enter preset messages (see pages 29
and 41).
Recent Msgs to enter messages used recently
(if applicable).
Paste List to paste copied or cut text (if applicable, see
page 28).
From To Do to use words you added in your calendar as
To Do (see page 73).
NUMBER to enter numbers.
Signature to enter your signature (see page 42).
Delete All to delete all text (if applicable).
