Please check with your state board for required cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
It is extremely important to clean and disinfect your pedicure spa after each pedicure, after the last
pedicure of the day, and once a week for overnight cleaning. Regular cleaning will help keep your
pedicure spa in good working condition. Proper and continuous cleaning will kill harmful bacteria and
germs that can cause infection.

Between Each Customer

1.
Drain water from the pedicure spa. Remove all debris.
2.
Clean all the surfaces of the pedicure spa. Use low-sudsing soap or detergent, and a non-
abrasive brush. Remove all visible residue from basin and then rinse.
3.
Disinfect all surfaces and components with an EPA registered disinfectant in accordance with
your state board requirements. *EPA disinfectants require ten-minute contact.
4.
Rinse off with clean water and wipe all parts dry with clean towel.

Daily Flushing of the Whirlpool System

The pedicure spa must be thoroughly cleaned after the last pedicure of the day in the following manner:
Note: Your state and local board guidelines must be followed. Check with boards for
requirements.
1.
Remove the suction fitting cover with a Phillips head screwdriver.
2.
All debris trapped behind the screen needs to be removed.
3.
The inlet behind the screen needs to be cleaned with low-sudsing soap or detergent, water, and
a non-abrasive brush.
4.
Before replacing the screen, clean it with a chlorine bleach solution of 1(one) teaspoon of 5%
chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of water, or Totally immerse the suction fitting cover in an EPA
registered disinfectant in accordance with your state board requirements.
5.
Replace the suction fitting cover with a Phillips head screwdriver. Do not over tighten the
mounting screw.
CAUTION: Do not run the pedicure spa whirlpool jets without the suction fitting cover in place.
6.
Fill the tub basin with warm water near the wave mark on the rear wall.
7.
Turn the whirlpool jets on.
8.
Add three teaspoons of low-foaming dishwasher crystals (not gel) and 1 ounce of household
bleach for up to six gallons of water to the tub basin. Turn on the whirlpool jets and let run for ten
minutes.
9.
Turn the jets off and drain water from the basin.
10. Rinse the basin and all other components with clean water.
11. Refill the basin with clean water. Turn the jets on and run for one minute.
12. Drain water from the basin and turn off the whirlpool jets. Then wipe dry with a clean towel.
♦ Note: Make a record of the date and time of this cleaning and disinfecting.

Once a Week Overnight Cleaning

In addition to the daily cleaning, the following cleaning procedures must be done every week.
1.
Follow steps one through seven as listed above as in "Daily flushing of the Whirlpool System"
2.
Turn jets off after ten minutes and let solution sit over night in basin (six to ten hours).
3.
The next morning drain, rinse, and wipe dry with a clean towel.
♦ Note: Make a record of the date and time of this cleaning and disinfecting.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Records

A record must be made of the date and time of each cleaning and disinfecting as required in the above
procedures. This record should be made available when requested by a customer or inspector.
