Installing a battery
► Position the battery at the edge.
► Insert the battery into the battery compartment until it engages positively (1).
► Slide the release button in the direction of the arrow (2).
► Complete the removal, see chapter

Modules Modular bay devices
The design of your notebook enables the flexible use of notebook batteries and drives. The
following modular bay devices can be operated in the modular bay of your notebook:
• Second battery
• Second hard disk drive
• DVD RW drive
• Blu-ray BD-W drive
• Weight Saver
• LIFEBOOK Bay Projector
Only use modular bay devices designed for your notebook.
Do not use force when installing or removing the modular bay devices.
Make sure that no foreign objects enter the modular bay.
You can swap modular bay devices during operation. This means you
do not need to switch off the notebook.
Log off the modular bay device via the corresponding symbol in the task bar.
The modular bay device can now be removed without any further actions being necessary.
