Installation of the range.
Read these instructions completely and carefully.
Converting the Range for Use with LP (Propane) Gas (continued)
Light the Oven Pilot
(if the range has standing pilots)
1. Be sure the OVEN TEMP knob is in the
OFF position.
2. Remove the oven bottom or open the broiler
door and remove the broiler pan. See the Care
and cleaning of the range section.
3. Find the oven pilot port at the back of
the oven.
4. Using a long match or match holder, reach in
and light the oven pilot.
5. Replace the oven bottom (if removed) and
close the door. Your oven and broiler are now
ready for use.

Adjust the Oven Pilot
(if the range has standing pilots)
1. Remove the thermostat knob.
2. Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver through
the hole.
3. Adjust the pilot flame height by turning
the screw.
4. Check oven operation.
With control knob in OFF
position, light standing pilot.
Flame should appear as shown.
Quality of Flames
The combustion quality of burner flames needs
to be determined visually.
If burner flames look like (A), further adjustment
is required. Normal burner flames should look
like (B) or (C), depending on the type of gas
you use.
With LP gas, some yellow tipping on outer
cones is normal.
(A) Yellow flames:

outer cones:
Normal for LP gas
(C) Soft blue flames:
Normal for natural
gas
