HP StorageWorks DDS tape products are supported, by HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools (L&TT)
version 3.1 onwards. This tool is intended to help in the installation and maintenance of HP tape drives and
devices and also includes:
Diagnostic tools for tape drive and tape automation devices, designed to simplify troubleshooting
Multiple options for retrieving firmware information and updating it

This feature puts the tape drive into a special disaster recovery mode that enables it to act as a bootable CD to
restore the operating system and reboot the server or workstation.
DDS has the highest installed base of any technology in the market with over 9 million drives installed.
