Advanced control

For advanced control, you can use your
AirPlay device to download the Philips Fidelio
application from Apple Application Store.
Update firmware
Note
You can only update the firmware from a PC/Mac.
If the SoundSphere speaker system is not
connected to any wireless router, follow the
procedures below.

Power on the SoundSphere speakers (see
'Prepare - Connect - Connect power
- Connect power to speakers').

It takes about 35 seconds for the
speakers to boot up. During boot-up,
the LED indicator on the back of the
main speaker blinks in green quickly.

After boot-up, the LED indicator
starts to blink in green slowly.

Press and hold WiFi SETUP on the back of
the main speaker for more than 5 seconds.

The LED indicator blinks in green and
yellow alternately.

Enter the list of available wireless
networks on your PC/Mac.

Select Philips_Fidelio_AirPlay (or the
user customized name) from the list of
available networks.

After successful connection, open the
web browser on your PC or Mac, then
type in 169.254.1.1 at the address bar.
Or open
Safari and then select
'Philips_Fidelio XXX' from the
bonjour pull-down list.
The DS9800W configuration page is
displayed.

Select the Firmware Update tab, then
click OK on the page.

A new page is displayed.

Click click here on the page, then
click Browse on the next page that is
displayed.

A dialog box with update files is
displayed on the left of the window.

Click the .bcd update file, then click
Open.

Click Upload on the next page that
is displayed, then click Ok on the
confirmation page.

A progress bar is displayed.

Wait until successful update, then click
Ok to confirm.
Tip
If your SoundSphere speakers and PC/Mac have
already been connected to the same router, proceed
with steps 5 to 10 in the above to upgrade the
firmware.
In case of update failure, use an Ethernet cable to
connect your PC/MAC to the same router as the
SoundSphere speakers, and then proceed with steps
5 to 10.
Charge your iPod/iPhone/iPad
with the standalone dock
You can charge your iPod/iPhone/iPad through
the supplied standalone docking charger.
