5. Spark arrester maintenance (optional part)

If the engine has been running, the muffler will be very hot.
Allow it to cool before proceeding.

Remove the 8 mm flange nuts and 8 x 16 mm flange bolt and remove
the muffler.
Remove the 6 x 6 mm and 6 x 10 mm flange bolts and muffler
protector.
Check the muffler exhaust port for carbon deposits; clean if necessary.
Loosen carbon deposits in the muffler by lightly tapping around it with a
plastic hammer.
Install the muffler and muffler protector securely.
